The Task Ahead

I've had a spectacularly exciting day.

I lost my favourite bra.

Then I found it again.

I tried to post a parcel with no address on it.

The man in the post office looked at me funny.

I went home.

I sent off extracts to the Myriad Editions Retreat Competition and the McSweeney's Amanda Davis Highwire Fiction Award.

I drank hot chocolate and bitched about the cold.

I wore two pairs of socks.

I read this, and the laughter slowly turned to gurning and choking on hot chocolate and deep, deep, deep sadness at the task ahead of me.
