I'm in this:
I was a finalist in the fiction category for my short story 'A Lack of Grace'. I am suitably chuffed.
Go buy/download a copy. It will be awesome.
I've been snowed in for a few days and my head's kind of full. Then the rain came and everything went back to normal. I miss the stopped world that a foot of snow demanded - no traffic outside my window, silent walking neighbours, the brightness of the landscape, even at night. Snowflakes pausing mid-flurry to peer in through our open curtains - they don't get out much, you see, they're pretty inquisitive. We lay awake til 3am the night it fell, watching the blanket grow, tracking the diagonals and the temper of the wind as this quiet invasion turned our street into a playground.
It's gone now. And I have to work tomorrow.
